Signing in proves you control a stake address by having your wallet sign a one-time code (no transaction, no funds moved - see Wallet Portfolio for the same read-only principle applied elsewhere on this site). The server then checks that address against the public Cardano ledger: delegated to BRIAN, at least 100 ADA. Only if both hold does a session start.
